Hot on the heels of this week's announcement that over 700 future participants have signed up for the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, after preparing and testing the site on a ludicrously accelerated schedule, we have launched Hyperloop Forums.

This forum is intended as a place to exchange ideas, test theories, analyze experiments, answer questions, and build excitement about Hyperloop—a watering hole for those thirsty to see this extraordinary project come to fruition. Pod Competition contestants, scientists, technology enthusiasts, and ordinary citizens are all welcome to join the community. The impact of the Hyperloop project on society will be so far-reaching that we all, in a way, are already part of the Hyperloop community, whether we realize it or not. But there are going to be lots of questions to be asked and answered in the months and years ahead, and that's what we are here for.

The content will start trickling in as more people join our community. Several universities have already announced their participation in the competition (USC, Illinois, and Texas A&M were among the first to join the fray), and we will be actively reaching out to teams inviting them to join the community.

I want to extend to you a warm welcome to the forums. Head over to the Introductions section and tell us about yourself and your interest in Hyperloop, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, spread the word, and prepare for an extremely fast ride.
